On many modern folding knives (like those produced by Benchmade, Zero Tolerance, Kershaw and others) you'll find an adjustable pivot. You can loosen or tighten the pivot screw, setting the knife's action to your liking. However, the Barrage 580-2 does not have an adjustable pivot. The knife is so tight that at this point it is not an assisted opening knife.
Best knife that I own. It came scary sharp from the factory. Nice strong tip.
