Product Description
Spyderco Manbug B.R. Green MGREP, ZDP-189 Steel, PlainEdgeMen and women are different. Spydercos new Manbug, compared with the classic Ladybug, contrasts these gender related differences. In typical male versus female fashion, Manbugs are thicker, more muscular and bulky than their thinner, lighter Ladybug counterpart. Manbug blades are equal in length to the Ladybug but wider with a robust modified clip-point flat-ground ZDP-189 blade. Jimping at the blades spine generates a slip-resistant purchase point for the pad of the thumb, keeping the folder steadily rooted in the hand. The handle is made of lightweight British Racing Green FRN Bi-Directional Textureing with a backlock positioned mid-way down the handles spine featuring a David Boye Dent. David Boye is a custom knifemaker who discovered that removing a dent of steel from the lock release, on some knives, lowers the chance that the handle can be gripped tightly enough to depress the lock and unlock the blade when cutting. Important to the engineering of a small folder is the precise alignment of the Spyderco Round Hole, relative to the pivot and to the back-lock. When positioned correctly it allows the folder, despite its small size, to open easier using one hand and ergonomically conveys the feeling that the knife is larger in the hand. Manbugs are clipless, designed for carry inside a pocket or affixed to a key chain through a lined lanyard hole.
