The Benchmade Triage 916SBK is a purpose-built rescue folder designed for law enforcement, EMS, fire, and military personnel who need a single tool that cuts seat belts, clothing, and cordage while maintaining a functional knife blade — all deployed one-handed under stress with AXIS Assist.

The blade is N680 stainless, a nitrogen-alloyed Böhler-Uddeholm steel chosen specifically for its corrosion resistance in moisture-heavy and maritime environments — significantly more resistant to saltwater and humidity than 154CM or CPM-S30V. The 3.40-inch blade carries a black coating and combo edge: the plain section handles general cutting tasks, the serrated section bites through synthetic seat belts and webbing. The integrated rescue hook on the spine opens at the spine and cuts away from the body — the correct geometry for cutting clothing or straps off a patient without risk of a blade point near skin. Black G10 handle scales are textured for wet-hand grip. AXIS Assist deploys one-handed; the AXIS Lock closes ambidextrously from either side.
