Named after the Boer pioneers of the 19th-century Cape region, the Boker Plus Voortrekker is a modern interpretation of a classic mechanical concept. Designed by acclaimed South African custom knifemaker J.D. van Deventer, this friction folder offers a unique blend of heritage aesthetics and contemporary materials. Without a traditional locking mechanism, the Voortrekker relies on the user’s thumb pressure to stay open, making it a globally compliant and incredibly lightweight addition to any EDC rotation.

The 3.0" D2 tool steel blade features a rugged stonewash finish and a versatile drop point profile, offering high edge retention and a non-reflective look. To open, the user simply rotates the blade using the protruding tang spur. When gripped, the user's thumb rests on this spur, providing a secure "manual lock" that makes the knife as safe to use as any locking folder. The handle is crafted from ultra-slim black G-10, keeping the total weight at a featherlight 1.84 oz. Because friction folders are best carried outside the pocket for safety, the Voortrekker eschews a clip in favor of a compact Kydex sheath, allowing it to be worn comfortably as a neck knife.
