As part of the 2026 tactical evolution of the M16® series, this model replaces traditional liners with the high-performance, ambidextrous Crossbar Lock. This upgrade maintains the iconic "drill sergeant" reliability that military personnel have trusted for decades while providing a faster, safer, and more intuitive manual operation for both left and right-handed users.

The M16-02X features a 3.11" tanto blade crafted from premium D2 tool steel, a high-carbon alloy celebrated for its incredible hardness and superior edge retention. The blade is finished with a rugged stonewash that hides the wear and tear of hard daily use. Deployment is instantaneous and silky smooth thanks to the integrated flipper tab and the IKBS™ ball-bearing pivot system. The handle is constructed from high-strength black Grivory®—an aircraft-grade thermoplastic engineered for maximum durability and a positive, high-traction grip in any environment.
