The 1.84" axe head and rear spike are crafted from SUJ2 steel, a high-carbon bearing steel renowned for its extreme impact resistance and toughness under heavy shock. Both the blade and spike are finished with a non-reflective black titanium nitride (TiN) coating for enhanced corrosion protection. When deployed, the tool is secured by the industry-leading Deadbolt® lock, which utilizes two steel bolts to provide a bank-vault lockup capable of withstanding the rigors of heavy chopping and prying. The handle combines the structural integrity of stainless steel with glass-reinforced nylon (GRN) overlays for a secure, high-traction grip in all environments.
