Product Description
Andrew Demko has been building knives that do things other knives do not for a long time, and the Shark-Lock is the clearest example of that. The AD20.5 is his production version of the flagship AD20 mid-tech — slightly smaller, slightly thinner, significantly more accessible, and built around the same patented locking mechanism that changed how serious EDC buyers think about knife locks. The Shark-Lock is a spine-mounted system operated by a ramp-like fin on the back of the blade. Pull the fin back with your thumb and the blade snaps open. The fin then doubles as a jimped thumb ramp when the blade is deployed and locked. The whole sequence is fast, ambidextrous, and keeps your fingers completely out of the blade's path — a detail Demko designed into it intentionally from the start.
The 2.88-inch Slicer Shark blade is CPM-3V tool steel with a stonewash finish. CPM-3V is not a stainless steel — it is a powdered tool steel developed specifically for toughness, edge retention, and resistance to chipping under hard use. It does things most stainless production steels cannot, particularly in demanding EDC and working knife applications. The Slicer Shark blade profile is a recurved design that maximizes belly and cutting length relative to the blade's overall dimensions — more cutting surface in a shorter overall footprint than a clip point or drop point would provide. The ball bearing pivot runs smooth from the first deployment and stays that way. Thumb pull and lanyard hole are both present.
The handle is milled titanium — not cast, not extruded, milled. That process removes material to create precise contours and texture that hold up in a way surface treatments never do. At 4.38 inches closed and 4.02 ounces it sits right where a working EDC should. The reversible tip-up pocket clip handles left or right hand carry without needing to source a separate clip.
