About Tritium:
Tritium is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen used in tritium vials that emits light when combined with phosphor. This low energy beta emitter is safe to handle and poses no threat due to its inability to penetrate the skin. It is important to note that ingesting tritium should never be attempted, as it carries inherent dangers. Tritium vials are cherished for their ability to remain self-illuminated over long periods of time without requiring external power sources or recharging; however, they will lose half of their brightness every 12.32 years on average.
