Spyderco co-founder Sal Glesser designed the original Lil’ Temperance as a small yet hefty folding knife, ideal for defensive use. Over the years, Sal has refined the design on several occasions, prioritising its utilitarian function without sacrificing its durability. The latest evolution of this loyal design surpasses earlier versions by replacing their traditional G-10 handle scales with injection-moulded fibre-glass reinforced nylon (FRN). As well as being lightweight, FRN provides extreme grip security through its deeply moulded Bi-Directional Texture pattern. Stainless steel liners, set in the scales, form the foundation of the knife’s high-strength Compression Lock mechanism and support its broad-based, four-position pocket clip. The Lil’ Temperance 3’s stout blade is full-flat ground from VG-10 stainless steel, has a minimal ricasso to maximise its edge length and is available in PlainEdge or fully serrated SpyderEdge formats. In other words, the Lil’ Temperance 3 Lightweight is a force to be reckoned with.
