Crafted by TOPS’ General Manager Craig Powell, the Yacare reflects a fascinating journey. His first encounter with machetes of this unique style was in Costa Rica, where he saw them proudly worn by locals and showcased in decorative pieces. These machetes had a distinctive flair reminiscent of barong-styled blades but stood apart from typical Central American designs, capturing Craig’s imagination. After experiencing the Bushcraft Global trip in 2015, his passion for designing a machete solidified: “I’m definitely not a knife designer,” Craig admits with humility. “So collaborating with Leo was essential to bring this vision to life while ensuring it aligns perfectly with the TOPS line.”

The Yacare features robust 3/16” 1095 steel accompanied by TOPS’ innovative Tungsten Cerakote finish. Its thick, well-contoured black canvas Micarta handles offer both comfort and control.
