Product Description
Josh Navarrete is a custom knifemaker from Oregon, a Forged in Fire champion, and someone who has spent years refining a single idea — a knife that is simple but genuinely does everything. The Armado 6.5 is the result of that process. TOPS collaborated with Josh to take a design he had been developing for years and bring it to production, and the TPARM250 is the 250th Anniversary edition of that collaboration. The philosophy behind this knife is almost deceptively straightforward: make it simple, make it efficient, do not add what does not need to be there. That restraint is actually harder to achieve than complexity, and the Armado 6.5 pulls it off.
The 6.5-inch drop point blade is 1095 carbon steel, heat treated to RC 56-58, with a blade thickness of 0.190 inches and a high grind that delivers exceptional edge geometry across a wide range of tasks. This is the detail that makes the Armado genuinely versatile rather than just claimed to be — the high grind works for precision food prep and fine cutting the same way it works for camp tasks and wood processing. From the campsite to the kitchen to processing game, the geometry handles all of it without compromise. The cutting edge runs the full 6.5 inches with a lanyard hole at the pommel for utility carry. Made in the USA at TOPS' facility in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
The tan canvas Micarta handle is contoured for a solid grip during heavy chopping and shaped for comfort during fine work — a balance that most handles choose one or the other on. Micarta is moisture-proof, stable in temperature extremes, and durable in field conditions that would destroy natural handle materials. The knife ships with a black Kydex sheath with a dangler attachment for belt carry. Overall length is 12 inches and knife weight is 14 ounces — substantial without being burdensome. Knifeworks is an authorized TOPS dealer and your purchase is backed by TOPS' manufacturer warranty.
