The 2.375-inch D2 tool steel blade is bead blasted to a non-reflective finish and ground with a blunt sheepsfoot tip — the ideal geometry for controlled precision work where a sharp point would be a hazard. D2 is a semi-stainless high-carbon tool steel that delivers exceptional edge retention and toughness, outperforming most stainless steels on edge-holding while still offering reasonable corrosion resistance with routine maintenance. The integral finger guard adds security during hard-use cutting tasks, and the needle notch wrench on the blade spine makes swapping dull veterinary needles fast and safe. Full tang construction runs the length of the handle for maximum strength.

The genuine stag handle scales are fitted with two mosaic pins and a large lanyard hole.
