The Benchmade Tactical Triage 917SBK is the CPM-S30V version of the Triage rescue platform — the same AXIS Assist deployment, rescue hook, and G10 handle as the 916SBK, upgraded to CPM-S30V for buyers who prioritize edge retention and long-term cutting performance over the saltwater corrosion resistance of N680.

The blade is CPM-S30V with a black coating and combo edge. CPM-S30V holds a superior working edge to the N680 in the 916SBK, takes a finer sharpening angle, and is the better choice for a tactical or duty folder that sees sustained cutting use rather than pure maritime environments. The black coating reduces reflectivity for low-profile tactical and duty carry. The combo edge runs plain toward the tip for general cutting tasks and serrated near the handle for seat belts, synthetic webbing, and cordage. The integrated rescue hook on the blade spine opens away from the body — correct geometry for cutting clothing or straps off a patient without blade-point risk near skin. AXIS Assist deploys one-handed from either side; the AXIS Lock closes ambidextrously.
