The Benchmade Seven Ten 710-25 is a large-format AXIS Lock folder built around M390 and a recurve blade profile — premium Böhler powder-metallurgy stainless in a satin finish, black anodized aluminum handle, and a blade geometry that delivers improved slicing performance at the cost of a more involved sharpening process.

The blade is M390, Böhler-Uddeholm's premium stainless that outperforms CPM-S30V and CPM-S35VN in edge retention and wear resistance. M390 holds a working edge significantly longer under sustained daily cutting and maintains a satin finish well over extended carry. A fine ceramic or diamond hone is required for efficient sharpening at home — the same requirement as 20CV and other M390-tier steels. The recurve profile creates a concave section in the mid-blade that concentrates cutting pressure at two inflection points for enhanced slicing performance on fibrous materials — more effective than a straight edge for cutting rope, webbing, and materials that require sustained pressure across the blade. The recurve sharpens correctly on a round-profile ceramic rod, not a flat stone. Black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle scales are rigid, durable, and corrosion-proof. AXIS Lock deploys and closes one-handed from either side.
