    Sal Glesser is an industry titan, inventor, and the co-founder of Spyderco. In 1976, Sal and his wife Gail converted an old bread truck into a motorhome and traveled to trade shows selling knife sharpeners—the original Tri-Angle Sharpmaker. In 1981, operating out of Golden, Colorado, Glesser released the Spyderco C01 Worker, a knife that fundamentally changed the global cutlery industry. Blade Magazine inducted him into the Cutlery Hall of Fame in 2000, and today he continues to design alongside his son, Eric Glesser.

    Virtually every modern tactical and everyday carry folding knife relies on features invented or pioneered by Sal Glesser. He created the trademark Round Hole™, replacing tiny nail nicks and enabling true one-handed thumb opening. He was the first to put a pocket clip on a production folding knife, the C01 Worker, moving the tool from the bottom of the pocket to the top edge for rapid deployment.
