It uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, mirrored for left-hand operation and built on nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners. A leaf spring set into the spine of the handle wedges against the blade tang to hold the blade open; to close it, press the exposed spring. The blade opens one-handed with the Spyderco Round Hole.

CPM S30V is a powder metallurgy stainless steel from Crucible, developed for knife blades and known for a strong balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. Because it is stainless, care is simple: wipe the blade clean and dry after use.
