CPM S30V is an American particle metallurgy stainless steel designed specifically for knife blades, with a balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. Here it is full-flat ground with a satin finish. The CombinationEdge pairs a PlainEdge section toward the tip for clean, controlled cuts with SpyderEdge serrations near the handle for rope, webbing, and cordage, and the textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp support a choked-up grip.

What lock does the Spyderco Military 2 C36GPS2 use?＋
The Military 2 uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, built into the skeletonized stainless steel liners nested inside the G-10 scales. When the knife is open, a leaf spring in the liner wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.
How is the Military 2 different from the original Military?＋
Spyderco replaced the original Military's Liner Lock with a Compression Lock, which Spyderco says offers greater strength and safer one-handed operation. The stainless steel liners are larger for added structural strength, and they anchor a new four-position pocket clip. The full-flat ground blade, Trademark Round Hole, and textured choil and thumb ramp carry over from the original design.

Spyderco's CombinationEdge pairs a PlainEdge section toward the tip with SpyderEdge serrations near the handle. Use the plain section for clean push cuts and detail work, and the serrations for rope, webbing, and cordage.
