CPM S30V is an American particle metallurgy stainless steel designed specifically for knife blades, with a balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. It holds a working edge through long stretches of field use and stands up to sweat and wet weather. The 0.145" blade is full-flat ground and finished with a black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating for a non-reflective look, and its textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp support a choked-up grip for precise cuts.

You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.
