CPM S30V is an American particle metallurgy stainless steel designed specifically for knife blades, with a balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. Here it is hardened to 58-61 HRC, so it holds a working edge through hard use and still sharpens on standard stones. What lock does the Spyderco Edgerati C266ALP use?＋
The Edgerati uses Spyderco's Compression Lock. On this knife, a stainless steel lock bar sits in a machined pocket in one of the aluminum scales, and the pierced handle lets you see it. When the knife is open, the lock bar wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.
