Fit and finish on this hawk is outstanding. Grain on the handle is oriented properly and the head is mounted solidly. You'll need a file and stone to get the edge up to snuff and some folks will prefer to remove the lacquer finish and finish it with linseed oil. It's made to be used in the woods. This thing is a chopping and splitting BEAST! Not as good a cutter as my GFB Wildlife Hatchet, but it's a hawk and costs 1/4 the price. Does not come with a sheath but CRKT makes one and ther are places online that sell kydex ones. Bottom line, this thing is a great value and is actually useful in the woods. Two thumbs up!
