Product Description
The ESEE-4 is an all-around survival, bushcraft, and outdoor fixed blade designed by Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin. This version pairs a 4.50" black-coated 1095 drop-point blade with a full plain edge, gray Micarta handle scales, and a Coyote Brown polymer sheath.
1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for survival knives: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.188" thick blade stock stands up to batoning, while the tall flat grind keeps the edge thin enough for clean slicing in camp and when processing game. ESEE knives are used at Randall's Adventure & Training jungle survival school and by outdoor users around the world, and the gray Micarta scales have a warm, textured feel that grips well in the hand.
- Blade: 4.50" 1095 carbon steel drop point, black finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.188" thick, 55-57 HRC. 9.00" overall.
- Handle: Gray Micarta for a secure, natural grip, 0.56" thick.
- Sheath: Injection-molded Coyote Brown polymer sheath included.
- Carry: 8.00 oz.
Ideal for: outdoorsmen and campers who want a mid-size knife for batoning and slicing; bushcraft and survival students who want a proven training-school design; and buyers who prefer an earth-toned Coyote Brown sheath.
Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The black finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.
