Product Description
The ESEE-4 is an all-around survival, bushcraft, and outdoor fixed blade designed by Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin. This version pairs a 4.50" OD Green 1095 drop-point blade with high-visibility orange G-10 handle scales and a black polymer sheath.
1095 carbon steel is a classic choice for survival knives: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and forgiving under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.188" thick blade stock stands up to batoning, while the tall flat grind keeps the edge thin enough for clean slicing in camp and when processing game. ESEE knives are used at Randall's Adventure & Training jungle survival school and by outdoor users around the world, and the orange handle makes this one easy to spot if you set it down in the field.
- Blade: 4.50" 1095 carbon steel drop point, OD Green finish, flat grind, plain edge, 0.188" thick, 55-57 HRC. 9.00" overall.
- Handle: Orange G-10 for a secure, high-visibility grip. 4.50" handle length.
- Sheath: Injection-molded black polymer sheath included.
- Carry: 8.00 oz.
Ideal for: outdoorsmen and campers who want a mid-size knife for batoning and slicing; bushcraft and survival students who want a proven training-school design; and collectors of hard-use ESEE knives.
Care: 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina. Keep the knife dry and lightly oiled.

What kind of blade and sheath does this ESEE-4 have?+
It is a fixed blade with a 4.50-inch 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, 0.188 inch thick, hardened to 55-57 HRC, with an OD Green finish, a flat grind, and a plain edge. It comes with an injection-molded black polymer sheath.
What is included with this ESEE-4?+
The knife comes with its black polymer sheath. Contents are subject to change by the manufacturer.
Who designed the ESEE-4?+
The ESEE-4 was designed by Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin as an all-around survival, bushcraft, and outdoor knife. ESEE knives are used at their Randall's Adventure and Training jungle survival school.
How is this different from the ESEE-4 3D Handle?+
Both share the same 4.50-inch 1095 blade, tall flat grind, and polymer sheath. The 3D Handle versions use contoured G-10 or Micarta scales shaped to fill the hand. The ESEE-4 3D Handle in orange, ESEE-4POR-006, is also available at Knifeworks.
Will the 1095 carbon steel blade rust?+
It can. 1095 is carbon steel, not stainless, so it needs more care than stainless steels. The OD Green finish helps protect the blade, but the edge and any worn areas can rust or patina if left wet. Wipe the knife dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it.
What warranty does the ESEE-4 have, and where is it made?+
ESEE describes its warranty as one of the most extensive available. Contact ESEE or visit eseeknives.com for current warranty terms and service. The ESEE-4 is made in the USA.
