Randall and Perrin built the ESEE-4 as an all-around field knife, and ESEE notes it has seen use by military, law enforcement, and adventurers, including students at Randall's Adventure & Training jungle survival school. This version is ground from CPM S35VN at 59-60 HRC, a powder-metallurgy stainless steel that holds a working edge noticeably longer than 1095 and stands up to sweat, rain, and humidity with far less care. The flat grind and 0.189" stock keep the ESEE-4's mix of strength and slicing, and the stonewash finish hides scuffs from hard use. Tan Micarta scales grip well wet or dry and wear in nicely over time.
