The Amberg Compact (S) is Morakniv's newest fixed blade — a short, nimble outdoor knife built for the person who wants real capability without a lot of knife. At just under 8 inches overall with a 3-inch blade, it disappears on your belt but shows up when you need it for carving, fire prep, camp cooking, or trail work.

The blade is 12C27 Swedish stainless steel, cryogenically treated and ground to a Scandi profile with a secondary profile grind at the edge — a combination that makes it easy to push through wood and just as easy to touch up in the field. The spine is ground flat for ferro rod use. At 2 mm thick, it's light and fast rather than heavy and brute-force, which suits the knife's purpose exactly.

The handle has a flatter geometry than most Mora handles — it narrows toward the blade with ridge lines along the spine for precision control. The fine friction pattern is laboratory-tested for wet and greasy grip. The symmetrical PP/TPE construction works equally for right- and left-handed users. The Click Lock plastic sheath is fully ambidextrous and mounts vertically on the belt.

Designed and made in Mora, Sweden, with 135 years of Swedish knife-making behind it. New for 2025.
