Les George is a 10-year United States Marine Corps veteran and tactical knife designer. The Rockeye was designed because the automatic knives available at the time did not meet the standard of someone who has used edge tools in operational conditions. Every dimension and hardware choice reflects that background. Pro-Tech built the knife to his specification — the collaboration produces a purpose-driven automatic that is meaningfully different from a production knife with a designer signature added after the fact.

The LG3103 uses CPM MagnaCut with a DLC black finish. MagnaCut was engineered by Crucible Industries to outperform conventional blade steels across every category simultaneously — higher edge retention than CPM-S35VN, better toughness than M390, and corrosion resistance that rivals steels built specifically for that purpose. The DLC coating adds additional surface hardness and wear resistance and eliminates glare and reflection in field conditions.

On the Rockeye, the push button serves double duty as both the deployment trigger and the lock mechanism. When the blade is open, the button engages the blade tang to lock it — there is no separate lock bar or liner. To close, press the button to release the lock and fold the blade manually. This keeps the operation clean and eliminates the mechanical complexity of a separate lock. Pro-Tech's coil spring provides consistent deployment force every time the button is pressed.

The Pro-Tech Rockeye is a push-button automatic knife with a 3.385-inch blade. Automatic knife laws vary significantly by state and locality — some states permit them freely, others restrict by blade length or require permits, and some prohibit them entirely. The green finish on the LG3103 handle is anodized — an electrochemical process that converts the surface of the aluminum into a durable oxide layer. Anodizing penetrates the metal surface rather than sitting on top of it, which means it will not chip, flake, or peel the way paint would. The smooth finish (no texture or pattern) gives the handle a clean appearance while allowing the contoured ergonomics to work without grip material interruption.

The Rockeye LG3103 measures 8.375 inches overall when open with a 3.385-inch blade. Closed length is 5.0 inches. It weighs 4.64 oz. The handle is contoured specifically to accommodate a gloved hand without the bulk that typically comes with duty-sized automatics. A black tip-up right-hand clip is included for secure pocket or belt carry.
