CPM CRU-WEAR is a high-performance tool steel made with Crucible's particle metallurgy process, which Spyderco notes gives it a fine, uniform structure. In use, that means a blade that combines high toughness with strong edge retention, the kind of steel that holds up to heavy cutting without chipping easily. On the Bodacious, it is full-flat ground to 0.125" thick with a satin finish for efficient slicing. Because CRU-WEAR is not stainless, it will develop a patina over time, which suits the knife's old-school look.
