The Para Military 2 CruCarta uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, built into the full skeletonized stainless steel liners. When the knife is open, a leaf spring in the liner wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.

CPM CRU-WEAR is an air-hardening tool steel made with Crucible's particle metallurgy process. Spyderco notes its reputation for taking and holding a keen edge while staying tough and resilient, so the edge resists chipping and holds up through hard daily use. Spyderco pairs it with canvas Micarta in its CruCarta family.

CPM CRU-WEAR is not a stainless steel, so it may develop a patina or rust if left wet or dirty. Wipe the blade clean and dry after use, especially after cutting food or handling it with sweaty hands, and keep a light coat of oil on it. It sharpens well on diamond or ceramic abrasives.

Canvas Micarta is made from layers of canvas fabric bonded with resin under heat and pressure. On the C81MPCW2, the precision-machined brown scales show that layered construction and give a warm, secure feel in the hand. They are supported by full skeletonized stainless steel liners for strength.

The C81MPCW2 ships as a knife with its four-position pocket clip installed. It is knife only, with no sheath or lanyard included. Packaging and included items are set by Spyderco and are subject to change.
