The ESEE-3MIL is a version of the all-purpose ESEE-3 that adds a glass breaker to the handle and a MOLLE-back sheath. This all-black model pairs a 3.88" black-coated 1095 drop-point blade with a partially serrated edge, black G-10 handle scales, and a black polymer sheath with a MOLLE back.
1095 carbon steel is a classic outdoor steel: tough, easy to sharpen in the field, and dependable under hard use. ESEE runs it at 55-57 HRC. The 0.125" thick, flat-ground blade slices thin for processing game and making tinder, while the serrated section near the handle helps cut through rope, cordage, webbing, and other tough materials.
