Product Description
The ESEE Imlay Rescue is a compact rope and swiftwater knife, named for the Imlay canyoneering area in Zion National Park, with a 2.25" partially serrated blunt-tip blade, a skeletonized stainless steel handle, and a high-visibility orange sheath.
ESEE built the Imlay for rafting, canyoneering, and water rescue, where the blade often works close to rope, gear, or people. The blunt tip is designed to reduce the risk of puncturing a raft or whatever sits next to the cut, and the partially serrated edge works quickly through rope and fibrous material. The blade is 440C stainless steel at 58-60 HRC, a corrosion-resistant steel that holds a working edge well and handles wet environments better than carbon steels. A rubber retention strap helps keep the knife secured in its sheath during active water work, and the Imlay has an integrated oxygen wrench.
- Blade: 2.25" 440C stainless steel blunt tip, flat grind, partially serrated edge, stonewash finish, 0.156" thick, 58-60 HRC. 5.9" overall.
- Handle: Skeletonized gray stainless steel, 3.65" long.
- Construction: Fixed blade, with no folding or locking mechanism.
- Carry: 2.12 oz. Includes an orange polymer sheath with a rubber retention strap.
Ideal for: canyoneers working ropes in technical terrain; rafters and kayakers who want a cutting tool that keeps the tip away from tubes and gear; and swiftwater rescue teams who need a light, easy-to-spot rope cutter.
