The Jinn started as Heretic's first-ever slip joint — a compact gentleman's folder built to be carried anywhere without drawing attention. Then it became a button lock flipper. The H113-5A takes the Jinn into automatic territory. The push button mechanism inside this knife uses custom-made flat coil springs and a proprietary bearing system engineered specifically for the Jinn's compact platform — both new to Heretic. This is not an existing Heretic auto mechanism scaled down. It was built from the ground up for this knife. The result is a push button automatic that actually fits in a pocket the way the Jinn always did — light, low profile, and non-intimidating in size.
The black aluminum chassis runs battleworn hardware throughout — every screw, every accent carries the same worn layered treatment. The Wharncliffe CPM-MagnaCut blade is finished in battleworn as well, giving it a distressed character that handles hard use without making it obvious. MagnaCut is widely regarded as the most well-rounded blade steel available in production knives today, combining edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance in a way no single-alloy steel matches. The button lock engages cleanly and holds with no play. Deployment fires with the authority you expect from an automatic knife and the compact dimensions of the Jinn platform.
The reversible clip handles tip-up carry on either side. A lanyard post is built into the handle for those who run one. At approximately 2.26 ounces this carries light for what it is.
