The Para 3 Lightweight uses a streamlined version of Spyderco's Compression Lock. Instead of full liners, a stainless steel lock bar is set into the FRN handle, and when the knife is open it wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.

The Para 3 Lightweight uses injection-molded FRN scales with a Bi-Directional Texture and a linerless, open-backed build with a stainless steel lock bar set into the handle. Spyderco says this makes it almost 30 percent lighter than the G-10 Para 3, at 2.4 ounces.

CTS-BD1N is an American stainless steel with added nitrogen, which helps it hold a keen edge while resisting corrosion. It handles daily use with little upkeep, and a few passes on a ceramic rod or fine stone keep the edge in shape.

The C223PBK has a 2.93-inch clip point blade with a 2.58-inch PlainEdge and a full-flat grind, so it slices cleanly for opening packages, breaking down boxes, cutting cord, and food prep, while the fine clip point handles detail work. At 2.4 ounces, it carries easily in a pocket all day.

The C223PBK ships as a knife with its reversible deep-pocket wire clip installed. It is knife only, with no sheath or lanyard included. Packaging and included items are set by Spyderco and are subject to change.
