Product DescriptionSpyderco C94PDBL UK PenKnife, Dark Blue FRN
Originally developed in response to restrictive knife laws in England that prohibited the carry of one-hand-opening lock-blade knives, the UK Penknife has become the go-to cutting tool for savvy knife users and travelers worldwide. The original member of Spyderco’s unique SLIPIT™ line of knives, it combines the convenience of clip carry and one-hand opening with a socially friendly notch-joint mechanism that helps hold the blade safely open during use, but does not mechanically lock it.
Designed for steel aficionados who appreciate superior performance, this elite expression of the UK Penknife features a blade crafted from premium CPM S110V stainless steel—a high-alloy martensitic stainless tool steel produced by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. This material’s high volume of vanadium-rich and niobium-rich carbides give it exceptional wear resistance and corrosion resistance—both highly desirable qualities in a knife blade.
The supercharged blade of this UK Penknife is paired with an injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle that proudly boasts the distinctive midnight blue color that identifies Spyderco’s elite CPM S110V series of knives. A deep-pocket, reversible wire clip supports left or right-side tip-up carry and ensures that this remarkable knife is always instantly accessible.

If the slipjoint is holding you back, get over it and buy this knife. The 90 and 180 open detents are more than stiff enough for a safe and confident "lock-up" without a locking mechanism. That said, this isn't a flick-open blade because of the resistance of the slipjoint. The polish isn't as nice as the more expensive S110V blades from Spyderco, thus only 4 stars, but still really nice. And incredibly thin and light with a deep carry wire clip, this is a great knife for EDC, or to round out your set of S110V blades. Buy with confidence and enjoy.
