The Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, built into the stainless steel liners nested inside the FRN scales. When the knife is open, a leaf spring in the liner wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.

Sal Glesser has refined the Lil' Temperance design several times. This version replaces the traditional G-10 scales with injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN), which is light and adds a deeply molded Bi-Directional Texture for grip. Nested stainless steel liners anchor the Compression Lock and the broad-based four-position clip.

The C69PBK3 has a 2.92-inch leaf-shaped blade with a 2.82-inch PlainEdge, a full-flat grind, and 0.157-inch-thick stock. The broad belly makes it a strong slicer for boxes, rope, and food prep, and the minimal ricasso puts nearly the whole blade to work as edge. The thick blade handles heavier cutting than most knives this size.

VG-10 is a Japanese stainless steel known for a balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. It takes a keen edge, handles everyday moisture well, and is easy to maintain on ceramic or diamond sharpeners.
