Spyderco co-founder Sal Glesser designed the Lil' Temperance as a compact, heavy-duty folder and has refined it over several versions. The Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight C69SBK3 replaces the earlier G-10 scales with black FRN and pairs them with a stout, fully serrated VG-10 SpyderEdge blade.
VG-10 is a Japanese stainless steel known for a balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The 0.157" blade is full-flat ground and has a minimal ricasso, which puts nearly the full blade length to work as edge. The fully serrated SpyderEdge grips and cuts rope, webbing, and heavy cordage where a plain edge tends to slide.

The Lil' Temperance 3 Lightweight uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, built into the stainless steel liners nested inside the FRN scales. When the knife is open, a leaf spring in the liner wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.
