CPM S30V is an American particle metallurgy stainless steel designed specifically for knife blades, with a balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. Here it is hardened to 58-61 HRC and finished with a black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating for a non-reflective look. The 0.145" blade has a full-flat grind, so the straight Wharncliffe edge slices cleanly right out to a strong, controllable point.
