The blade is ground from CPM-S90V — Crucible's particle metallurgy stainless steel engineered for maximum wear resistance and edge retention through high vanadium content. The 3.40" reverse tanto is the profile that defines the 940 platform: unlike a standard tanto where the spine is straight and the secondary edge meets it at an angle, the reverse tanto drops the spine toward the tip while the edge curves up to meet it — creating a refined, swept profile that gives the 940 its distinctive silhouette while maintaining a functional tip geometry for precision work. The flat grind at 0.120" thick keeps the geometry efficient. The FDE Battlewash PVD applies a warm Flat Dark Earth physical vapor deposition coating with a Battlewash worn treatment consistent with the seasonal set. 

The handle is aluminum with steel frame liners — the steel liners add structural rigidity to the aluminum scales, giving the 940 more backbone than a pure aluminum construction at a weight that is still manageable at 2.79 oz. Taiga Green colorway, Burnt Copper hardware accents throughout. Dual thumb studs provide deployment options including right-hand, left-hand, thumb, and reverse flick — the versatile opening the 940 platform is known for.
