The Benchmade Mini Narrows 743 takes the full-size Narrows' titanium-and-premium-steel formula and scales it down to a 2.98-inch blade — the same slim AXIS Lock profile, the same gray titanium handle construction, and 20CV powder-metallurgy stainless, in the most compact configuration Benchmade offers in the Narrows line.

The blade is 20CV, Carpenter Technology's powder-metallurgy stainless that is chemically identical to Böhler M390. 20CV delivers the same premium edge retention and wear resistance as M390 — significantly better than CPM-S30V or CPM-S35VN — with the same sharpening requirement: a fine ceramic or diamond hone rather than a standard rod. The stonewash finish conceals carry wear and reduces reflectivity, and it applies cleanly to 20CV's fine-grained surface for an even muted gray tone across the blade flat. The gray titanium handle scales are lighter than steel, stronger than aluminum, and give the 743 a carry weight under 2.5 oz while maintaining the premium hand feel of the full-size Narrows. AXIS Lock deploys and closes one-handed from either side at 2.98 inches — the most carry-restricted-friendly blade length in the Narrows family.
