Product Description
The blade is ground from CPM MagnaCut at 63-64 HRC — Crucible's particle metallurgy stainless steel engineered by Dr. Larrin Thomas to deliver edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance simultaneously. At 63-64 HRC, this is among the hardest CPM MagnaCut production blades available, delivering edge retention that outlasts virtually every other folding knife steel at this hardness. The 3.67" drop point runs a hollow grind with stonewashed finish — geometry optimized for the full range of cutting tasks a daily carry knife encounters, from food prep and rope to camp tasks and precision work.
The glass blasted titanium handle finish is the differentiating element on the UMN-1012. Glass blasting creates a consistent fine-grained matte texture across the 6AL4V titanium surface — harder than standard satin finishes, resistant to showing wear, non-reflective in any light condition, and providing a tactile grip surface improvement over natural titanium. The handle is 0.47" thick at 5.0 oz — substantial enough for a full, authoritative grip. The modified Reeve Integral Lock delivers increased blade strength and improved pivot and lock tolerances over the standard RIL configuration. Glass-breaker built into the handle butt when closed. Tip-up right carry.
