The Microtech Ultratech Gen III ZBP is a double-edge OTF automatic built on the third-generation Ultratech platform — a chassis that has been refined over decades into one of the most recognized production OTF knives in the world. The ZBP designation marks Microtech's Zero Blade Play technology, an internal locking refinement that eliminates lateral blade movement in the deployed position for a tighter, more precise lock-up than standard production OTF tolerances allow.

The blade is Bohler M390MK, Microtech's in-house processed variant of Böhler M390, hardened to 61–62 HRC. The apocalyptic finish — a controlled chemical darkening that produces a mottled, high-contrast surface — reduces glare and adds visual depth without adding coating thickness. The dagger profile runs dual plain edges on a flat grind, with a 3.20" cutting edge per side that performs as a functional two-edge working blade. The Gen III platform runs Microtech's Dual-Fuel Drive Train for consistent deployment force and the Crud Kutter internal guards to prevent debris interference with the OTF mechanism.
