Product Description
Spyderco co-founder Sal Glesser designed the Bodacious as a sturdy folding knife built for reliability and named it after a famous American bucking bull. This C263GS pairs a 3.63" satin CPM S30V blade with a fully serrated SpyderEdge and smooth black G-10.
CPM S30V is an American particle metallurgy stainless steel designed specifically for knife blades, with a balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. Here it is hardened to 61-62 HRC with a satin finish. The broad, full-flat-ground blade carries a fully serrated SpyderEdge that grips and cuts rope, webbing, and cordage where a plain edge tends to slide.
- Blade: 3.63" CPM S30V leaf-shaped blade with a 3.53" fully serrated SpyderEdge, full-flat grind, satin finish, 61-62 HRC, 0.125" thick.
- Handle: Smooth black G-10 scales over nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners with a stainless steel backspacer and brightly finished hardware; 4.68" closed, 4.4 oz.
- Deployment + Lock: Spyderco Trademark Round Hole for one-handed opening with either hand; the Compression Lock releases from the spine side, so your fingers stay clear of the closing blade.
- Carry: Broad-based pocket clip, reversible for tip-up carry on the right or left side, over a lanyard hole for fobs or safety lanyards; 8.27" overall.
Ideal for: rescue, maritime, and outdoor users who need a full-size serrated folder for rope and webbing; tradespeople who cut strapping and cordage every day; and fans of Sal Glesser's designs.
The Spyderco Bodacious in satin CPM S30V with a SpyderEdge blade and smooth black G-10 (C263GS) ships same or next business day from Columbia, Louisiana. Knifeworks is an authorized Spyderco dealer.
Spyderco Bodacious: Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about the Spyderco Bodacious (C263GS).
What lock does the Spyderco Bodacious C263GS use?+
The Bodacious uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, built into the skeletonized stainless steel liners nested inside the G-10 scales. When the knife is open, a leaf spring in the liner wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.
Who designed the Bodacious, and where does the name come from?+
Spyderco co-founder and Blade Magazine Hall of Fame member Sal Glesser designed the Bodacious. It is named after a famous American bucking bull, and Spyderco built it as a sturdy folding knife for reliable everyday use, with a stainless steel backspacer and nested liners for structural strength.
What is a SpyderEdge serrated blade good for, and how do I sharpen it?+
Spyderco's SpyderEdge is a fully serrated edge pattern. The serrations grip fibrous materials, so the blade cuts rope, webbing, seatbelt material, and cordage where a plain edge tends to slip. To sharpen it, use the corner of a triangle or tapered rod to touch up each serration from the beveled side, then lightly remove the burr on the flat side. Spyderco also offers factory sharpening service.

What comes with the Bodacious C263GS?+
