The Lil' Native uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, built into the nested stainless steel liners. When the knife is open, a leaf spring in the liner wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.

The Lil' Native brings the ergonomics of Spyderco's Native into a more compact folder with a 2.45-inch blade and a 3.47-inch closed length. A forward finger choil lets you choke up on the blade, so you still get a secure, full grip on a small knife.
