The Lil' Native Wharncliffe uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, built into the nested stainless steel liners. When the knife is open, a leaf spring in the liner wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.

The Wharncliffe pattern was created by an English nobleman who believed a perfectly straight edge and acute point would make pocketknives more useful. On the Lil' Native, the spine curves down to meet the straight edge at a very fine point, which gives precise control for scoring, opening packages, trimming cord, and detail cuts. The trade-off is less belly for long sweeping slices.

CPM S30V is an American particle metallurgy stainless steel developed specifically for knife blades, with a balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. It holds a working edge through daily use, resists rust in everyday carry, and sharpens well on diamond, ceramic, or quality synthetic stones.

The C230GPWC ships as a knife with its reversible deep-pocket wire clip installed. It is knife only, with no sheath included. Packaging and included items are set by Spyderco and are subject to change.
