The Spyderco Caribbean REX Leaf takes the popular Caribbean design out of saltwater duty and builds it for maximum edge retention, pairing a full-flat leaf blade in CPM REX 121 with burnt orange G-10 and a Compression Lock.
CPM REX 121 is a high-vanadium, cobalt-bearing high-speed tool steel from Crucible Industries. Crucible formulated it for very high hardness and wear resistance, for industrial cutting work where ordinary tool steels wear out too fast. In a knife blade, that translates to an edge that can keep cutting cardboard, rope, and other abrasive materials far longer than most steels before it needs sharpening. The 3.65" leaf-shaped blade is full-flat ground for efficient slicing.
