CPM S110V is a high-vanadium, niobium-enriched powder metallurgy stainless steel from Crucible, built for very high wear resistance with good corrosion resistance. In practice, that means an edge that keeps cutting through cardboard, cord, and long days of work well after most stainless steels have dulled. The trade-off is sharpening: it takes diamond or CBN abrasives to restore. The 0.145" blade is full-flat ground with a satin finish, and its textured index-finger choil and thumb ramp support a choked-up grip for precise cuts.

The Military 2 uses Spyderco's Compression Lock, built into the skeletonized stainless steel liners nested inside the G-10 scales. When the knife is open, a leaf spring in the liner wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin. You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.
