Product Description
The Native 5 Lightweight Salt C41PGR5 brings Spyderco's Native, a mainstay of its American-made line since 1997, into the Salt Series for use in and around the water. This fifth-generation design pairs a full-flat-ground LC200N PlainEdge blade with Spyderco's signature high-visibility green FRN handle.
LC200N is a nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel originally developed for aerospace bearing applications. Using nitrogen in place of much of the carbon makes it extremely corrosion resistant, which is why Spyderco uses it in Salt Series knives. The 0.125" blade has a satin finish and an index-finger choil for a forward grip during detailed cuts, and the plain edge sharpens easily on standard stones, rods, and guided systems.
- Blade: 2.95" LC200N leaf-shaped blade with a 2.42" PlainEdge, full-flat grind, satin finish, 0.125" thick; index-finger choil.
- Handle: Linerless green FRN with Spyderco's Bi-Directional Texture for a secure grip with wet hands; 4.00" closed, 2.4 oz.
- Deployment + Lock: Spyderco Trademark Round Hole for one-handed opening with either hand; a precision-machined Back Lock holds the blade open and releases by pressing the lock bar on the spine.
- Carry: Four-position pocket clip for tip-up or tip-down carry on the right or left side; 6.95" overall.
Ideal for: anglers and boaters who want a compact, light folder built for salt water; users who prefer a plain edge that's easy to maintain; and Native fans who want the Salt version.
The Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight Salt in LC200N with green FRN (C41PGR5) ships same or next business day from Columbia, Louisiana. Knifeworks is an authorized Spyderco dealer.
Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight Salt LC200N: Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about the Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight Salt (C41PGR5).
What lock does the Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight Salt C41PGR5 use?+
The Native 5 Lightweight Salt uses a precision-machined Back Lock. When the blade opens, a spring-loaded lock bar in the spine of the handle drops into a notch in the blade tang and holds it securely. To close, press the exposed section of the lock bar on the back of the handle and fold the blade, keeping your fingers clear of the edge. The lock works the same for left- and right-handed users.
What is LC200N steel?+
LC200N is a nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel originally developed for aerospace bearing applications. Using nitrogen in place of much of the carbon gives it extremely high corrosion resistance along with good toughness, which makes it a strong choice for knives used in and around salt water.
Do I still need to rinse an LC200N knife after saltwater use?+
LC200N is extremely corrosion resistant, but a quick freshwater rinse and dry after salt exposure is still good practice. It clears salt, sand, and debris from the pivot and lock so the knife keeps opening and closing smoothly over time.
What is the Native 5 blade good for?+
The C41PGR5 has a 2.95-inch leaf-shaped blade with a 2.42-inch PlainEdge and a full-flat grind, so it slices cleanly for fish and bait prep, cutting line, food prep, and everyday chores. The index-finger choil lets you choke up on the blade for detailed, controlled cuts.
What comes with the Native 5 Lightweight Salt C41PGR5?+
The C41PGR5 ships as a knife with its four-position pocket clip installed. It is knife only, with no sheath included. Packaging and included items are set by Spyderco and are subject to change.
