CPM S45VN is a powder metallurgy stainless steel from Crucible, developed as an advance on CPM S35VN with added niobium for a fine, tough structure. It balances edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance, so it holds a working edge through daily use and stands up to sweat and humid weather. The 0.145" blade is full-flat ground, with a plain section toward the tip for clean slicing and serrations near the handle for rope, webbing, and cordage.

You release it from the spine side of the handle with one hand, which keeps your fingers out of the blade's path as it closes.
