The Mudbug uses a traditional lockback. When the blade is open, a lock bar along the spine engages the blade tang and holds it in place. To close the knife, press down on the exposed lock bar at the back of the handle and fold the blade, keeping your fingers clear of the edge.

CPM MagnaCut is a powder metallurgy stainless steel designed to balance edge retention, toughness, and high corrosion resistance. On the Mudbug, White River hardens it to 63-64 HRC. It holds a working edge well, resists chipping, and stands up to wet conditions better than most knife steels.

A sodbuster-style blade has a long, mostly straight edge and a gentle, rounded point, a classic farm and ranch pattern. On the Mudbug, the 3.5-inch blade and thin 0.100-inch stock make it a strong slicer for opening packages, cutting cord and twine, food prep, and everyday chores.

G-10 is a fiberglass-and-resin laminate that is strong, lightweight, and unaffected by water, so it holds up well to hard use in the field and shop. On this Mudbug, the green G-10 scales sit over an orange liner that shows as a bright accent line along the handle.
