The Benchmade BM583SBK Barrage is the tactical-configured version of the 580-series — AXIS Assist deployment in a tanto-profile 154CM blade, black coated, with a combo edge and black Valox handle for buyers who want the Barrage's full-grip feel and assisted-opening speed in a harder-use configuration.

The blade is 154CM stainless with a black coating and combo edge. 154CM is a corrosion-resistant workhorse alloy that holds a serviceable working edge and sharpens without much effort — appropriate for a tool-use folder that gets carried and used. The tanto profile reinforces the tip for piercing tasks where a drop point would flex or roll; the plain section handles everyday slicing while the serrated section toward the handle bites into rope, webbing, and synthetic materials that resist a plain edge. Black Valox (glass-filled nylon) handle scales are lightweight, moisture-resistant, and textured for grip. AXIS Assist deploys the blade with a thumb-stud flick; AXIS Lock closes one-handed from either side.
