The blade is M390 powder-metallurgy stainless with a DLC coating. M390 sits at the top of production EDC steel options — it holds a working edge significantly longer than CPM-S30V or CPM-S35VN under hard use, resists corrosion comparably or better, and produces a sharper initial edge from the factory at the cost of requiring a finer ceramic or diamond hone to maintain at home. The DLC coating adds surface hardness, reduces friction during deployment, and reduces reflectivity to near zero for low-profile carry. The bronze titanium handle scales are anodized 6Al-4V titanium — lighter than steel, stronger than aluminum, and the anodized bronze finish provides a unique visual identity that differentiates this SPL2 variant from standard Narrows production.
