The Smock C240CFP is Spyderco's production version of the custom SK23 by industrial designer Kevin Smock. It pairs a 3.45" hollow-ground CPM S30V sheepsfoot blade with carbon fiber/G-10 laminate scales and a button-released Compression Lock.
CPM S30V is an American particle metallurgy stainless steel designed specifically for knife blades, with a balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The 0.118" blade is hollow ground with a satin finish for a thin, keen edge, and the sheepsfoot profile pairs a long, straight edge with a rounded spine that drops to a controlled point. You can open it with either the flipper tab or the Trademark Round Hole.

What lock does the Spyderco Smock C240CFP use?＋
The Smock uses a button-released version of Spyderco's Compression Lock, built into the nested stainless steel liners. When the knife is open, the lock wedges between the blade tang and the stop pin to hold the blade securely. Instead of pressing a tab at the spine, you press a button to release it, then fold the blade closed with your fingers clear of the edge.
How do you open the Smock?＋
The Smock gives you two ways to open it with one hand. You can pull back on the flipper tab with your index finger, or use the Spyderco Trademark Round Hole with your thumb. Both work with either hand.
